Latest innovations for advanced interoperable communications vehicles supporting emergency preparedness now available
KENNESAW, Ga., March 11, 2008 — AGTFederal, a leader in emergency response communications and the mobile and fixed communications division of Applied Global Technologies (AGT), today showcases the latest generation of emergency response communications systems with the opening of its new production facility in Kennesaw, Ga. These next generation communciation command and control vehicles will support the National Guard Bureau (NGB) and the Florida National Guard Regional Emergency Response Netowrk.
These Mobile Incident Site Systems purchased by the Florida National Guard and the NGB are capable of deployment over ground and by air, enabling the Guard to establish and maintain open lines of communications during man-made or natural disasters, such as Hurricane Katrina, terrorist action or loss(es) of infrastructure.
The first of these new vehicles was commemorated today in a ceremony at AGTFederal’s manufacturing facility in Kennesaw, Ga. Joining AGTFederal at this key event were the NGB’s Colonel Kenneth McNeill, Deputy for Command, Control and Computers Directorate (C4I) and Major Lee Furches, Deputy Division Chief, Command, Control and Computers Directorate (C4I) and other key members of the Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia National Guard and others who support national emergency preparedness.
In addition to today’s announcement, AGTFederal is now providing emergency response systems to multiple State Guard units and other state and local jurisdictions around the nation.
These trailers include the latest in secure wireless mesh networking, VoIP telephony, video-teleconferencing systems, radio communications and satellite communications platforms. These complete units are part of the Guard’s efforts to deploy regional and nationwide communications systems that enables any first responders (both Department of Defense affiliated and local, county or state) to interact between various agencies and entities during real-world emergencies and ongoing training events. The efforts undertaken by AGTFederal are part of multiple contract awards that extend full command and control capabilities within
hours to anywhere in the United States and its territories. In addition, AGTFederal will provide the Guard with complete training and support services.
